Looking for Avan Hire Gold Coast, Byron Bay or Ballina?

Our Avan A-liner is surprisingly roomy inside yet light and compact to tow and perfect for Avan hire on the Gold Coast, Byron Bay or Ballina.

With a tare weight of just 840kg, it can easily be towed by most medium sized vehicles.  (Please check your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications with regards to towing capacity).

Please note, our Avan require your vehicle to have a brake controller fitted.  This is the law for any van or trailer weighing in excess of 750kg.

The true pleasure of the Aliner is that you can stop by the roadside and have the billy on the stove in under 3 minutes!

The Aliner sleeps up to 3, with a double bed at one end and a table that collapses into a single bed at the other.

It comes with an Anderson Plug already fitted and a solar panel to trickle charge the deep cycle battery. So if desired, you can camp free of the need for 240V power for several days.

It comes equipped with a 3-way fridge/freezer, gas cooker, a table and two chairs to enjoy the outdoors.  We provide all cutlery, crockery and all of the cooking utensils that you will require.  We can supply linen if necessary at a small extra charge.

Frequently Asked Questions for Avan Hire Gold Coast – A-Liner

Q. How many people can the A-van sleep?
A. A maximum of 3 people.  At one end of the van is a double bed and at the other, is a table and 2 seats that convert to a 3rd bed.

Q. Can I tow the A-van with a small vehicle?
A. You must check with your manufacturer’s specifications on towing capacity of your vehicle.  We have 2 A-van aliners available for hire.  They are different models and have different weights:

i) 2003 model ALIN99A has a tare weight of 840kg
ii) 2001 model ALIN99A has a tare weight of just 680kg.

The 2001 model can be towed by a suitable vehicle without an electric brake controller fitted.  However, the 2003 model must be towed by a suitable vehicle fitted with a brake controller.

Q. Is the A-van difficult to set up?
A. The real beauty of the A-vans is the simplicity of the design and the ease with which they can be put up and pulled down.  Once you have done this a few times, you can have the A-van up and ready to use in just minutes!

Q. Do the A-van come with an awning and annex?
A.  Both of the A-vans have awnings and we have the one annex.  Although it is not overly difficult to fit the awning, it does of course add to the set up time as it has to be fitted to the frame prior to lifting the roof panels into place.

Q. Do the A-vans come with a cook top and fridge?
A. Yes, both vans are fitted with gas fired cook tops and 2-way fridges (that work off either power or gas).  Additionally, the 2003 model van is also equipped with a microwave oven.

Q. Do you supply outside seating?
A. Yes, we provide both seating and a table to take your camping adventure ‘outdoors’.  And we can also provide a gas powered camp cooker for your convenience as well.

Q. Do I need to bring anything?
A. Our vans a fully equipped with everything you need as standard, other than linen and pillows.  (We can provide these too if you want us to, but most people prefer to bring their own)

Q. Do you have a minimum and maximum rental period?
A. We do have a minimum period of 2 nights if it is the weekend or 3 nights during the week.  (Easter is an exception, where we have a minimum hire period of 4 nights).  There is no maximum rental period, although for longer hire times, we do ask that you contact us to discuss your proposed hire period and to negotiate a ‘long hire’ rate.

Q. Can the A-vans be taken off road?
A. No.  The vans are only to be used on gazetted sealed roads.  Any damage to the vans caused whilst being towed on unsealed roads must be fixed by the hirer.  We provide a Hire Agreement for you to look at should you wish to hire our vans.  This document clearly states the terms of the hire including restrictions to the use of the vans.

Q. How do I book?
A. Once you have decided to book, please have a read of our Hire Agreement.  After you have looked over the Agreement and agreed to it, then go to our Booking page and follow the steps.

Q. Do we have to return the A-van to Mullumbimby or do you have drop off sites elsewhere?
A. All of our vans and trailers must come back to our address in Mullumbimby.  If this becomes impossible for any reason, please contact us and discuss.

Q. Do you accept Credit card payment?
A. Yes we do!  We also accept direct deposit, Paypal, cash or bank cheque.
