Looking for Camper Hire Gold Coast, Byron Bay or Ballina?

The Jayco Eagle is the latest addition to our fleet at ByronCampers and is brilliant for camper hire on the Gold Coast, Byron Bay or Ballina.

It sleeps up to 5 in comfort and yet is still compact enough to be towed by a small size SUV.  (With a tare weight of under 950kg, most vehicles will tow this when fitted with an electric brake controller. Please check your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications).

Our Eagle is extremely popular with larger families, so please book early to secure your holiday!

(Be sure to familiarise yourself with the video below before erecting this camper so that you are confident of the procedure prior to setting off on your holiday).

For those not familiar with the Eagle, the roof winds up and the beds pull out from either end – a queen size up front and a double down the back.  With a fridge/freezer, microwave, stove, cutlery, crockery and all the cookware you need, the Eagle is ready to go – just bring your own linen.

It comes with an awning as a standard feature and an annex for extra room if required.  (Please note -the annex incurs an added charge).

This camper also comes with an Anderson plug fitted and a deep cycle battery, so you can camp free of the need for 240V power for a few days if desired.  (Please note, unless your vehicle is wired up to accept an Anderson plug, you will not have any way to charge the campervan’s battery unless you elect to hire our portable solar panel).

We are pleased to offer Camper Hire Gold Coast, Byron Bay or Ballina.

To answer most of your questions, please check out our FAQ section under the video.

Frequently Asked Questions for Camper Hire Gold Coast Jayco Eagle

Q. How many people does the Jayco sleep?
A. Five. There is a queen size pull out bed at the front of the van and a generous double pull out at the back.  Additionally, there is another bed that can be made up using the seating inside the van.

Q. What vehicle do you need to tow the Jayco?
A. You will need to check your car manufacturer’s specifications relating to the towing capacity of your vehicle.  The Jayco has a Tare weight of 980kg.  Regardless of the type of vehicle you have, you WILL need an electric brake controller fitted to your vehicle.  This is mandatory if you are towing any trailer weighing more than 750kg.

Q. Is it difficult to set up?
A. No.  We supply a step by step instruction sheet for you to follow as well as providing a short ‘how to’ video clip on our website.  If you watch the video a few times and then follow the step by step instruction sheet, you will be fine.  And remember, we are only a phone call away and we can talk you through any problems you might be having.

Q. How long will it take me to set up the van?
A. Not an easy question to answer.  However, remember – you are on holiday and it’s not a race.  Take your time, familiarise yourself with the instruction sheet and watch the video before hand, and it will all ‘fall in to place’.  Allow 30 to 40 minutes for the basic set up (i.e. everything except the awning/annex).  You may do it quicker than this, or if it is your first time, it may take a little longer.  But that is a fair guide.  If you are going to put up the annex as well, then allow another half an hour.

Q. What equipment is supplied with the van?
A. All of our vans are equipped with everything you need other than linen and pillows.  (These can be supplied at a small extra cost if arranged beforehand).  Included are all of your crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, washing up essentials, electric kettle and toaster as well as a kettle for the gas cooker.  We can supply outside chairs and table if required (please advise us at time of booking if you want these included).  For the van set up, we include a levelling ramp, poles, guy ropes, and pegs for the annex and awning and bed flys.  (If you have any special requirements, please talk to us and we can probably help).

Q. Does the fridge work off gas if we are not on a powered site?
A. Yes, the fridge is a 2-way fridge, working on both gas and power.

Q. Is the cook top gas heated?
A. Yes, the cook top has 3 gas burners and a 4th that is heated electrically for your convenience if camped at a powered site.

Q. Can we take the Jayco off-road?
A. No.  All of our vehicles are only covered by insurance if they remain on sealed roads.  Any damage caused while the vehicle is off road must be fixed at the hirer’s expense.  All of the ‘conditions of hire’ are contained in our Hire Agreement which will be sent to you once you have indicated your desire to proceed with a booking.

Q. How do I book?
A. All of our bookings are now made through our partners at Camplify. To book our Jayco Eagle camper trailer, visit our Camplify listing page, create a free account and make a booking request for your desired dates. If you have any difficulties, please contact us.

Q. Do we have to return the Jayco to Mullumbimby or do you have drop off sites elsewhere?
A. All of our vans and trailers must come back to our address in Mullumbimby.  If this becomes impossible for any reason, please contact us and discuss.
